The School of the SEA (Sea and Earth Advocates) is an experiential learning center focusing on the principles of marine conservation and of sustainable living. This was founded by the Law of Nature Foundation (LNF) in 2002. For the past several years, it has been very instrumental in changing the mindsets, attitudes, and practices of its student-visitors. It has been able to reach out to at least eight thousand participants, youth, teachers, lawyers, young professionals, LGU officials, and many more.
An eco-friendly philosophy can be adapted easily, and a lot of people are taking to the ecofriendly lifestyle - seen in their use of the many types of "green bags" when grocery shopping or going through their day-to-day activities.
With the invitation to 'switch off' extended to everyone, Earth Hour quickly became an annual global event. It's scheduled on the last Saturday of every March - closely coinciding with the equinox to ensure most cities are in darkness as it rolled out around the Earth. In 2011, the challenge became going Beyond the Hour - which is an invitation to further commit to lasting action on climate change

CEBU, PHILIPPINES --- The Mountains and the Seas are calling. Needless to say, each of us has an innate connection with Nature and its elements. We yearn for the thrill each adventurous discovery brings us. We roam the earth to seek its natural wonders and treasures. We get outside and venture into the outdoors since we feel the need to recharge, reconnect and seek our very selves in the solace of the outdoors.
Once Again, HABAGAT OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT brings you PUNDOK HABAGAT Basic Mountaineering Course and Basic Kayak Course. Both are connecting activities to the re launch of the series.
What is Pundok Habagat? This question sparked the curiosity of most mountaineers. Pundok Habagat is a lifestyle centered into the outdoors, the preservation of nature, and learning of new skills to keep up with the rigorous demands of survival when exposed to the natural elements. It is also a group of responsible mountaineers dedicated in preserving the environment as their playground, advocating the “GREEN LIFESTYLE” and adhering to the 7 Leave No Trace Principles.
Having this to back up your passion, we bring the Basic Mountaineering Course to know more regarding how it is to be in the mountaineering community, getting to know on the history of the umbrella organization of mountaineers in the Philippines. Aside from that, to be well rounded, the outdoor enthusiast must have skills in paddling too. Basic Kayaking Course brings you the techniques in how to paddle and at the same time some rescue points for yourself and for others. It brings awareness to those who wanted to spend time to navigate the waters.
PUNDOK HABAGAT BASIC MOUNTAINEERING COURSE AND BASIC KAYAKING COURSE will be held at Phercris Beach, Marigondon, Lapu2x City on Feb 21-22, 2014. These events will be participated by aspiring responsible mountaineers who wanted to learn the basics and enjoy the outdoors safely.
